Joel Comm’s AdSense Secrets 4.0 Well Worth the Pocket Change

BUT WHAT A FOOL I WAS FOR PENNIES…

I have a wee little confession to make. No, I’m not telling my darkest or most intimate secrets.

I’ve been selling online since 1997 and running Google AdSense ads on a few of my sites for the past four years. The truth is, I was lucky to get two checks from Google in a year – and these were bare minimum payouts.

Still, I thought I knew it all; I mean I was making a little something! But what a fool I was for pennies.

When I finally broke down, emptied my change pocket, bought and started reading Joel Comm’s AdSense Secrets 4, everything changed. More about that in a second…

WHY ADVERTISE SOMEONE ELSE’S PRODUCTS

This question has haunted me for years. Why confuse my visitors or Customers with someone else’s stuff?

I made the assumption that ad placement would create confusion. I could just as easily have made the assumption that ad placement offered my visitors a choice. And why not? If a visitor is not going to make a purchase, they are going to click off your site.

Why not give them a relevant product option in the form of an ad and let them click that instead of typing in another URL or hitting the big X in the upper right corner? If the advertised product is “better” in your visitor’s mind than your product, you weren’t going to profit anyway!

Placing relevant ads on your site offers you the opportunity to profit in either circumstance:

  • Visitor converts to Customer? You profit.
  • Visitor does not convert to a Customer but clicks on one of your ads? You profit

THE DANGER OF LOVE

In February, I threw caution to the wind and placed Google image ads on my low but steady traffic product site. I chose ads that were in the genre of my products. The ads were visually appealing. One of them was actually stunning. They meshed well with the site. I had fallen in love with my Google image ads. Surely everyone else would like them too.

But not one click. Not one.

Now, I’ve got a different dead-in-the-water website on aonther domain that I haven’t updated in three years. It is ugly as sin and produces at least one click a day. What could possibly be wrong with a visually appealing website with relevant, visually appealing ads?

What could possibly be right about an ugly site with old content? Why, oh, why did no one click on those beautiful ads placed lovingly within the confines of a nice looking site? I was baffled and frustrated (but still in love).

ENTER JOEL COMM, ADSENSE KING

I suppose you could say I was ripe for the picken’.

When Joel Comm told me via video on his site that his product could fix my problem, cure my ill and make me whole again, well, my financial guard went up but I surely was chasing that bait. Then I lost interest.

I may not be making money with AdSense but at least I wasn’t losing money to some over-hyped internet marketing guru whose affable smile and pre-90′s geekiness was reeling me in.

No sireee. I am not spending $197 on some over-valued PDF. And I am not spending $97 either. Even $67 is out of the question. Unless I could prove to my husband that I would be making money with Adsense even $47 would be too much.

Then I saw the real price.

My first thought was, “This guy spent all this time and effort making a video for this product that costs less than lunch?” Cripes he’s got time on his hands!

His offer, however, was hands-down, Mark-Joyner-Irresistible. I took my Paypal pocket change, forked it over to Joel Comm and downloaded his Adsense Secrets PDF.

AND ON THE FOURTH DAY, SHE IMPLEMENTED

I breezed through the first several pages of Adsense Secrets where Joel Comm introduces basic website and google ad concepts. A complete novice will find his easy-to-read style and explanations helpful. You won’t find alot of humor in Joel’s writing; he tends to deliver information in a matter-of-fact tone. What he is telling his readers though works.

I’d been reading the PDF for three days before I worked up enough courage to muck with my unprofitable but oh-so-lovely site.

On Day 4 I had given enough thought to one specific piece of advice I found in the PDF (specifically on Page 35). No wonder my ads weren’t producing! I fell out of love with my beautiful ads immediately and took them down faster than a hungry cheetah behind a not-long-for-this-earth gazelle. In their stead went ads just like those described on Page 28 (the first sentence of the page) and Page 41, item number 2 and Figure 3.11.

ONE WEBSITE, THREE CHANGES

Two days later, I had made more money with Adsense Secrets than I had in two months of beautiful ad futility. And the changes I’d made came directly from his eBook.

I still wasn’t ready to confess to my husband that I’d broken down and purchased a PDF with a title like AdSense Secrets 4. And why should I? I’m telling you, I picked this gem up for pocket change at Joel’s site so am I obligated to go to marital financial confession? Have I sinned?

I had to wait a week or two, just to see if my first two days were a fluke. I like consistent results. Besides, I had to arm myself with proof. Results. That would sure smooth the road to redemption.

As of this writing, we’re three weeks out. I’ve not only made my pocket money back – with one website – but I am in the black and now making a profit on my initial investment.

I went to marital financial confession a week ago. I revealed my weakness for Joel Comm’s AdSense Secrets, letting The Man of The House know I spent lunch money on this incredible PDF.

I find myself logging into Google AdSense daily and checking my site’s progress. I began calling my Husband during the day to tell him how much we’ve made. My threshhold for excitement is not very high; if we make at least a dollar before mid-day, I’ll call him.

He’s started saying things like, “A hundred websites like that one and …”

Admittedly, Joel Comm’s AdSense Secrets is not the cure-all for the debt-ridden and near-bankrupt. I’m definitely not making enough to pay an average mortgage.

But for the very small investment I made, I’m now getting a free tank of gas each month for my 21 gallon 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that gets about 10 miles to the gallon. Don’t laugh! It’s paid for. (Thanks, Dad!!)

So, if you have a website and a little bit of time to do some easy reading, dig into your pocket change. Get Joels’ eBook and read it. If I can get a free tank of gas out of three changes to one website, anyone can.

There is obviously a lot to know about this. I think you made some good points in Features also.

Thank you for your comment. I’d love to know what you liked most about this post.

AdSense may seem like a mystery but with a little diligence, it can be profitable for a publisher. If you have an AdSense account, look at the tabs in your account. As of this writing, the last tab on the right is a “Resources” tab. On it you’ll find Google AdSense optimization tips and Publisher tools.

Another good resource is the Google AdSense Blog. Give that a look and you’ll find nuggets of AdSense gold.
