Why The Lucky Stiff and Ruby

I’ve discovered Ruby (again!). I initally found out about Ruby and Ruby on Rails from Sitepoint.com. But I just couldn’t get my arms around it.
But then I happened upon WhyTheLuckyStiff’s online, interactive, dive-right-in Ruby tutorial. It’s pretty darn cool.
Check it out:
Now, WhyTheLuckyStiff has a (free) book aptly entitled, “Why’s (Poignant) Guide to Ruby” (yes, FREE). A word of warning though: If you’re looking for another boring, dry web programming language tutorial, head for you local Barnes and Noble ‘cos this ain’t it. For example…
I’ll be straight with you. I want you to cry. To weep. To whimper sweetly. This book is a poignant guide to Ruby. That means code so beautiful that tears are shed. That means gallant tales and somber truths that have you waking up the next morning in the arms of this book. Hugging it tightly to you all the day long. If necessary, fashion a makeshift hip holster for Why’s (Poignant) Guide to Ruby, so you can always have this book’s tender companionship.
Don’t know what I’m gonna do with it, but I gotta have it.
Go get ‘em cowgirls: poignantguide.net/ruby
Enjoy! (i am)
