Introducing the #197^th Review: a new Meme

I spent the better part of the day writing an article about memes and how to search twitter for a meme. First page returns on Google, Yahoo, MSN and All the Web are informative, but I wanted to see what was buried in those search engines.

The more I looked, the more I realized there are diamonds buried in the search engine returns.

And with that, a new meme was born: #197review

Like “Hello Dolly,”

#197review, the meme, “symbolizes the hope and anticipation of an entire web population: those in the 197^th position in a search engine return – summed up in three numbers and six letters preceded by a hash tag.”

Designed to recognize and lift the lowly search engine rank of the lucky website, the #197review can give that site and the folks behind it a fighting chance.

Each Wednesday, #197review will present and review one website, the 197^th return in a search for a keyword or keyword phrase. The review will include specific recommendations to improve the site and the site’s rank in search engine returns. Site design, browser compatibility, on-site optimization, in-bound links, blog status and social networking status will be assessed.
